How could I have forgotten that classic: They’re all number one priority! Usually uttered in response to a question like: What’s the top priority? In this case, the speaker may not know what the top priorities are. Or he may believe that ranking the tasks will result in displeasing someone(s). Rather than incur the wrath of the non-number one priority task folks, all tasks are declared equal. He may also believe that if we just work a little bit on all of them, all the tasks will be completed more quickly than if they were done sequentially. Wrong, wrong, wrong.
