Most of the time, both hiring managers and candidates look for /skills/ match–the employee has the skills and experinece to do the work. That’s important! However, it does’t mean you’ll have happy employees. When a candidate’s skills match what the job requires, the employer is happy! But employees are happy when what they want out of a job matches what the job offers. That might be independence, achievement, a supportive manager, or something else. Exploring those needs is just as important as looking a skills when hiring or looking for a job. Becasue happy employees are more engaged and more productive.
